Roleplaying
Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set
A brand-new boxed set designed to give those new to roleplaying an introduction to, and a good understanding of, the D&D game experience. It contains everything needed to generate characters and run encounters, including a complete set of roleplaying dice, streamlined rules drawn straight from the Dungeons & Dragons v3.5 core rulebooks, and miniatures from the D&D Miniatures line. In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Dungeons & Dragons brand, this box was named for a classic boxed set from the first years of the game's history and is a great way for current players to introduce the game to a whole new generation.

I need more setting books like a I need another hole in my head, but hey, I can always use a few more holes so I'll probably pick up Eberron to add to the collection of decomposing compilations. I'll likely borrow someone's Players Guide to the Planes to spruce up an impending Planescape campaign (whenever Planewalker.com finished their conversion) rather than buy it. And while I like collecting splatbooks only to snatch a page or two of ideas and shelve the rest, the Complete Warrior rather failed to live up to even that so I'll likely just browse over the companion books for such and then neatly put them on the store shelf where they belong. I'll probably pick up Serpent Kingdoms if it actually delves a good amount into the races themselves since I can use a little idea theft for my Dark Sun campaign. The WOTC mini line to me is a flop; too plain and garish looking, so I probably won't be picking up any more of the line.

Looks like its more 3rd party publishers again this year.

Are there longer descriptions for the Planar Handbook, Races of Stone, and/or the Complete Divine? Some tips on what will be in them?

Yes, but gotta run right now, I'll post them in a couple hours.

Has there been anyword if the Epic City of Union will be included in the new PlanesScape book?

Also has there been any plans to re-introduced spell jamming/plainshifting ships into the planes?

I was too poor to buy the old stuff. But now at last the Planes shall be all mine!!!!
