MD-DC-VA Gaming Day Comments...How did you like it?

Had a great time at the game day. Met a lot of very cool folks.

I want to offer a special thanks to everyone in attendance for pitching in to surprise Dethstryke by singing happy birthday en-mass.

He had no clue we planned it and thought it was completely spontaneous.

Lots O Fun!

Thanks to MarauderX and Rasyr for running two very enjoyable games. It had only been 3 weeks since my last chance to game and it was nice to get a fix. If the plans for next semester come through, I will gladly participate, maybe even contribute to the effort in some form.

* Wizards, even when made of iron and doing Dimension Door 'Death From Above' with a surprised tag-along paladin, are not the best grapplers, even underwater. Nor are they good doorstops.
* Walls of Force and Iron can make for a quick cage to seal in a King for his own protection.

*bow* The best trick I ever pulled as a wizard was beating a rakshasa sorcerer solo. I transmuted the rock in his cavern home floor to mud when he turned invisible, making him not so hard to find, but he just dimension doored out of it, coming at me from behind and taking a whack. I cast iron body and we squared off. Unfortunately we both had such high damage reduction that neither of us could hit! That's when I bum rushed him, grappled him into the mud and drowned him in my iron form.

The second best trick I ever pulled was keeping a blue dragon from taking off by putting a wall of iron over the top of his cavern. Of course, the dragon didn't see it there, so when he took off, he slammed into it, dislodged it, and had it fall on him. Walls are so underestimated by gamers these days when evocations and stat boosts are the norms.

I love wizards.

I can't believe I missed it, and I really can't handle waiting a whole year for another shot at getting in on the fun. I really have to find a regular local game :\

* PCs have no fear of deep water or drowning, and will grapple water critters even when their swim skill is... poor.

Swim what now? ;)

It's nice to see that we in OO's Grim Tales game were not the only ones to have aquatic adventures of ineptitude. Though we were mostly flailing about in mostly vain attempts to rescue damsels in distress and acquire pond daggers. Heh.

:)

Wanted to say I had a great time a Terpcon! Do we really have to wait a whole year? :(

Got to play in threshel's Mutants and Masterminds game and great fun was had by all! Learned that the Shockwave Extra for Super-Strength hits EVERYTHING (including time-traveling bad guys). The discovery of this in fact probably added to the noise ("Boo-yahs" and high-fives were called for when the big-baddie went down!) Hopefully, I'll get to play more M&M games with the team; a benefit granted by this fine event.

I'll join in on the many thanks to Old One and his "cohorts" who organized this event. I really can't find anything about it I didn't like/enjoy, not even the noise. All-in-all, a fine event and look forward to more. If the UofM Gamers do something next semester; count me in!

I just think it is too bad that nobody wanted to go play with the spiders....

<<insert evil GM laugh here>>

I don't think we would have had time, but you could have just had my character sense a magic item in there;)

Hope he wasn't too annoying!
