Wish I could go to either one, but until I can overcome panic attacks while riding in a vehicle. the only way I can get to a Con is if I were to walk.:D

But I'm working on that and hopefully next year I'll attend both Origins and GenCon!

Hope everyone has a safe and very enjoyable GenCon!!!

You'll be with us in spirit, Anna, and I'll be telling everyone how much you've been a help to me :)

Well, thanks, Mythusmage. But this is not the case with me. I've been on planes before (been to Mexico and back which required 3 planes) but just not comfortable with them. Especially in light of the 9/11 events. I'd really like to go to the British Isles, but I'm waiting for the trans-Atlantic bridge. :)

You start your side and I'll start mine, we'll meet in the middle for a coffee fella, then I wouldn't have to seel mt last kidney just to get over there for GenCon.. ;)

Kids Colouring Book o Critters- CONTEST

Ambient'll be there in force- the entire core krewe, including the Ambient Spawnlings, also known as the Transcendental Maggots.
Jason Parent, Denise Robinson, and our artist Tony Monorchio (aka Squidhead) will be there, along with Chrystine (age 6) and Genevieve (almost 11). This is our first time at GenCon, and we're looking to be wowed: Hound and I did Origins, but the only gaming convention Squid or the Spawn have attended was CanGames in Ottawa, which had I think a total of ten dealer booths, if you get the picture...
Anyhow, the contest. The first person at the Con who can tell me from whence we derived the name "Transcendental Maggot" gets a free copy of issue #5 of "Shocked and Amazed" magazine, autographed by the Jim Rose Circus (now how's that for a clue!) and a free copy of the Kids Colouring Book o Critters.

Ambient will certainly be a strong presence! If you check out the schedule you will see how many times they are available and ready with PEN in hand!
Chrystine and Genevieve will be added to the schedule to sign the coloring book and put some of the original coloring talent to work for everyone!
I can't wait to meet Tony too!

I've already been teaching the girls the importance of pimping their product, and trading for swag- the true purpose of a game designer attending a Con, right? I think they're hoping to score a discount on some Icehouse pieces so they can play more Martian Chess, and they're always on the lookout for pretty dice and nice miniatures. I wonder which girl will be able to score the best deal? The witty almost-11 year-old, or the supercute 6 year old?

I can't wait to show off the Colouring book, it is so great- with two blank pages for kids to fill in their own creatures... and honestly, many of the monsters are QUITE usable (and they're all d20 ready, thanks to their dad's hard work).
