Melf's Guide to Greyhawk

D&D General Melf's Guide to Greyhawk Coming From Luke Gygax & WotC

I'm hopeful this is a full on separate book (think like that Exodus sci-fi game WotC produced but didn't create) and not "just" a supplement, so it can adjust the 5.5e rules to be closer to old-school styles while using the current D&D "engine".
I think you should prepare for being disappointed then. It's going to be a book for 5.5e, they're not going to spend time and people to remake the current system for a one-off book.

YMMV our GREYHAWK 1E games generally never had Orc player characer, and Orcs were rarely seen freely in even the largest cities, most often than not prisoners.

Those playing Half-Orc were assumred to be of the 10% sufficiently non-orcish to pass for Human.
But there is plenty in the text to suggest he possibility.

"They" wouldn't. WotC isn't directly involved in this book. I'm expected to be disappointed, but remain hopeful they do SOMETHING to bring back a true old-school feel.
