[Merged] Hackmaster reviews?

Well, to be fair, I dropped in on the HM forum to see what they were saying. To be fair, the only post there urged restraint and honest posts vice fawning, which is something that you wouldn't see among the NG or Kalamar fans. Now its just a matter to see if the rest of the HM fans follow suit. :)

Even if my fears are unfounded, the ultimate question is: what does ENWorld represent? To me, it represents 3e, d20/SRD, and products derived from or directly supporting them. I could live if Everquest or Godlike showed up on the top 20 list. HM would strike me wrong, however.

But it's not just about what I think ENWorld is about. Its about what our gracious proprietor and the community thinks. You already know what I think.

Wow...I never realized this whole argument existed. You guys need to relax. If they decided to review different weights of motor oil here, I wouldn't mind, it's there bandwidth.

Just because they post it, I don't have to read it. In fact I never read the reviews.

Why does it matter again if a non-d20 product is reviewed?

Cedric - doesn't understand

EN World is the best D20 site around, and it has the strongest community. Anything that would dilute that focus would damage the community and threaten its devolution into irrelevance, so it must not be done.
More D&D-related material would damage ENWorld? I don't think we're quite on the same page in how we view this site. It would be interesting to run a poll to see where people stand on what you're saying, and how it maps to the vision of those who run the site.

EN World is not a D&D site. It's a D20 site. Only D&D3e is D20, which is why that's okay and the previous editions (or variants, such as HM) are not.

Hey now. Why pick on people who like Kalamar. I am starting to consider myself a Kalamar fan and I would never think of stooping to such tactics. :p

Better change the title at the top of the browser page then. It should read, "EN World - Morrus' 3E D&D/d20 News & Reviews Site"....just in case anyone "gets confused" and thinks that earlier editions and variations aren't frowned upon here. ;)

Let me think again... what was the progenitor of this site? Eric Noah's ... what was it?... THIRD EDITION NEWS.

Hmmm... and what's that on top of the reviews page... d20 reviews? :)

Well, you might notice that the Core books don't say 3rd edition, they say Dungeons and Dragons. Perhaps a minor point, but I think it's an important distinction. :p ;)

Right. Better take off the conversions while we're at it. We must eradicate all trace of earlier editions.
