I'm going to take this extremely long thread title in the manner it was intended and respond in the affirmatory that the answer to this extremely long thread title is Yes and that you may absolutely have the feat crossbow expert only, and not have the dual wielding feat as well and still use a short sword in one hand and the hand crossbow in the other hand and use a bonus action to make an attack with the hand crossbow that does add your attribute bonus, specifically your dexterity bonus, to the damage of the aforementioned hand crossbow attack.

And with long sword, I can?
The feat crossbow expert, says it can be any one-handed weapon, but the rule of two weapon fighting says no. How would it be?

To the OP, from the other threads which I do not want to respond in because it should all be kept in one place.

You can use a non light weapon like a rapier in your main hand because, you are not using the two weapon fighting rules. The two weapon fighting rules only apply when you are using two melee weapons.

Yes you can use a shield in your off hand, and have a hand crossbow in your main hand. You do not need a feat for this, just pick up a shield and a hand crossbow. If you have the crossbow expert feat then you could attack with the crossbow, and then again with the crossbow using a bonus action.

You're thinking this in the wrong way. Crossbow expert allows you to make an extra attack with a crossbow in your hand. It's not tied to TWF. It doesn't matter what is in your other hand, be it light weapon, regular, shield or tomato. You can eat the tomato and still shoot with the crossbow. It is outside of the TWF rules.

The OP seemed to have started another 3 threads at least about this. Why not keep it all in one. I understand there might be a language issue since the OP is from Rio, and I don't speak portuguese, if that is the case please try asking something specific in this thread and I will do my best to help.

Right. Noticed this too. I actually think we're up to 6 now.

Not using the [bafflingly unnecessary] "What's on your mind" window would probably also cut down on all of these repeating threads being created.

Just reply to the thread you are in using the "Quick reply" box at the bottom of the page and/or click on "Go Advanced" for a full formatting reply window. Don't answer in the "What's on your mind" box as it creates a new thread.

Because Crossbow Expert and two-weapon fighting aren't actually related to each other.

Two-Weapon Fighting is a base rule that says this.

IF: You have a light weapon in each hand, and you make a melee (or thrown) attack with one
THEN: You can use a bonus action to make an attack with the weapon in the other hand, but you can't add your modifier for damage.

Crossbow Expert is a feat that says this:

IF: You have a one-handed weapon in one hand, and a hand crossbow in the other, and make an attack with the one-handed weapon
THEN: You may take a bonus action to make an attack with the hand crossbow.

Basically, they are two completely separate mechanics that generate a bonus action to attack with an off-hand weapon. They don't interact with each other because it's impossible to meet the requirements of both Crossbow Expert and two-weapon fighting at the same time. You can't have two light melee weapon AND a hand crossbow in your hands at the same time.

The "What's on your mind" box creates a new thread? Yikes.
