Merryshire Detective Club Brings The Cozy To GUMSHOE

In a hole in the ground… they found a body.
What do you get if you cross The Hobbit with Midsomer Murders? That's the question which Pelgrane Press has set out to answer!

Powered by its in-house GUMSHOE system, known for investigative TTRPGs like Trail of Cthulhu, Night's Black Agents, Ashen Stars, and Bubblegumshoe, Merryshire Detective Club allows you to play fantasy-themed amateur detectives in a cozy village. You can investigate the fearsome spectral hare of Underfoot Hall, solves a pastry-stealing conspiracy, or solve the mystery of Two Corpses in a Trenchcoat.

Written by veteran TTRPG designer Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan (The Laundry, Traveller), gameplay is a combination of investigation and comedy. Players design their cozy village together, populate rhe village with idiosyncratic characters, form their club of amateur sleuths, and solve mysteries which may or may not include murder and/or cakes.

Well it reads like it'd be fun for a wide audience, that seems like a premise that could be particuarly fun for teens. I know my daughter, who enjoyed playing then running Bubblegumshoe in her teens, would have enjoyed it. It's been a long time since I played Trail of Cthulhu, but this sounds like its more in line with the Bubblegum take on the Gumshoe rules.
