Metamagic Focus Item?

How would you price a metamagic rod that is only useable for a specific spell? Let's say an enlarged grease spell. A lesser enlarge rod would cost 3,000 gp and works for any spell 3rd level or lower, so it should definitely cost less than that.

I would probably price it at 40-60% of the standard metamagic rod. The majority of the materials would still have to be used but it would be a much less useful item. IMHO 50% would be good. The problem would be that if you have a character that only metamagically enhances a certain spell, you are giving them a huge discount for what they would use a standard rod for anyway. It could be unbalancing.
