Actually, +12 to one attribute costs 1,440,000gp -- it's an epic item, and suffers a x10 cost multiplier.

Dthamilaye said:Using x2 for the rest is dumb. For the same price, you could put each ability into separate _slotless_ items and just keep them in your pocket.
KaeYoss said:So my method isn't "dumb" at all.
kreynolds said:Actually, no. If the item takes a slot, you double the cost of the first power (as per the table in the DMG) and then apply a 50% increase to the additional powers (as per the pricing sidebar in the DMG).
kreynolds said:Clearly, to me, anyway, a +6 to all stats item that doesn't take up a body slot is more valuable than a +6 to all stats item that takes up only one body slot, which in turn is more valuable than 6 separate items, each granting +6 to one stat.
KaeYoss said:Then screw the official crap.
KaeYoss said:Putting more dissimilar powers on one slot is the same as using ioun stones (or other slotless items) for it.
kreynolds said:Not at all. Six ioun stones don't take up any precious slots, thus they are more valuable than an item that _does_ take up a slot. Thus, it only makes sense that six +6 to stat ioun stones would be more expensive than a single +6 to all stats magic item that does take up a single body slot. It won't be that _much_ more expensive, but it's still more expensive nonetheless.
KaeYoss said:A belt of +6 to all, as far as I'm concerned, the same as a belt of giant strength +6 and 5 ioun stones with +6 to the other ability scores. so you get 1x1 and 5x2. 1x2 and 5*1.5 isn't enough.
KaeYoss said:Of course, a slotless item with +6 to all has to cost even more: 6x2.
KaeYoss said:What I meant is 1 belt + 5 stones.
