MIC Item Question

In the new MIC there are Items with charges that let for the use of a charge Deal more Damage with a spell.
For example Gloves that add one Die Damage to a spell.
So a Ligthning for example would deal 11 D 6 then 10.
If one Meta magics that Lightning for example with maximize or repeat spell woud the extra die affected too?
Would that mean 2 11D 6 Ligthnins or 66 D Damage depending on the meta effect choosen.

Watch when the damage is added as well ..

I recall seeing 1 item (the seven viels Set items?) that add 1d6 fire damage when the target is damaged by a fire spell ....

Well, the 1d6 damage is "triggered" by actually damaging an opponent ... which means, the spell was already cast .. and already did it's damage (ie 10d6, or 10d6*1.5, or whatever ..) so the extra 1d6 added cannot be affected ... it's an "after-effect" of a kind ...

Not sure which other ones are out there, but just read it carefully and consider the timing of the thing .. that should help you understand when it is or is not affected by metamagic ..

(for example, an item that raises your effective caster level by 1 for fire based spells - used by a 9th level caster - would change an empowered fireball from 9d6*1.5 to 10d6*1.5 .... in that case, yes, it is affected by metamagic ... )

Hope that helps!
