Mildly Evil/Chaos aligned?

If a plane is mildly evil and chaotic aligned...and gives a -2 to charisma 'checks' to lawful good characters....what exactly does this apply to? Only skills that use charisma? Spell DCs for lawful good charisma based casters? Turning undead?

We're playing right now so quick answers are appreciated ;) Thanks!

For lawfull characters, everyting involving charisma including turn undead, lay on hands, diplomacy, a Paladins save bonusses from charisma and more.. Everything :-)

Thanks for the answers!

We didn't even consider the effect on the cohort...a nice 15th level paladin. Oh well. It probably wouldn't have mattered anyway...the lich we were fighting *wanted* us to kill him so that he could magic jar into a dead(ish) evil deity.

No problem.

I am really intersted in the cohort thing. I will have to look into that. Please let me know what you find.

Thanks.

I would say that it doesn't affect the Cohort. You have a -2 on Charisma checks, but your Charisma itself isn't lowered. Especially when you consider that this is a temporary thing, I would say that results of your Charisma score that have already been placed (like gaining a cohort) are not going to be negatively affected by the penalty. Plus, it seems that the penalty would only apply to checks against creatures, etc. native to that plane, not to your own party. But I could very well be wrong there.

I haven't really been planeshifting, but I really think it affects everyone. Actually, it is quite the opposite, you're very rarely seeing a native affected by planar penalties, but not because he'd be immune, because you're very rarely going to meet a lawful good creature native of a chaotic evil plane. Sounds like some sort of natural selection :)

Dimwit?

I think that you may have a valid point there. I did not quite look at it that way.

I don't believe that the -2 penalty would effect your actual Charisma modifier. So, anything gained by Charisma prior to going to that plane you would most likely keep. (ie; cohorts)

So, the power balance is a little out of whack. Who cares?
