Milk from Cows?

Okay, we all know Milk comes from cows [Or other animes, like goats]. I thought of this question while downing a glass of milke just now:

How did the first people to 'discover' milk, well, discover it? I'm trying to be serious here, as serious as this question can be. Did like a drop squirt out into someone's mouth and that person was like 'yum?' Or did that person do it on a Dare? [Dude, I dare you to drink part of that cow. Uh, jee, okay.']

And then, how did that person convince other people to drink it?

Think about Meet the Parents when Ben Stiller said he milked a cat once. If someone offered you a cup of cat's milk, would you have some? I'd be like, no way!

Okay, that's all I have to say.

That took a while to find, and it's skim on the details. (pun intended)
Milk originated in 5000 BC. If I find more, I'll tell you, but likely it was so long ago that we can't know.

Yeah, those are skim :wince: on the details. And yeah, I do want to know, at least until I find out the truth. Then I might want to, but until then...

5000 BC, eh? That's a long time ago.

Hey, maybe there was a cow farm once and the mother of several children couldn't produce milk so they strapped the kids to the nearest other thing which did: Milk. The kids continued to drink the milk even after weening age and voila [sp.] the first milk drinkers are born.

I guess all we'll have are speculations and murmurings...

I'd guess that... don't cows have to be milked or something? Someone probably tried cow pee and figured it wasn't so bad...

Milk doesn't come from THAT...they come from utters. Although...if milk from a cow tastes yummy, how do we know that OTHER liquids from a cow aren't just as yummy?

Heh.

Well, some cultures make sure to use every part of an animal... I think that may be going too far, though.

Maybe since baby cows drink milk from their mothers, humans figured it must be healthy, just like milk from their own mothers.

And what's wrong with weird conversations?

I was going to argue this saying it might not be healthy for people to do this to just any animal because there are probably some cases where it would make us sick because of various bacterias and stuff or whatever, but 5000BC, I'd be HIGHLY surprised if people knew what bacteria were back then.

And I never said there was anything WRONG with a weird conversation, just that it WAS a weird conversation.

Well, also, that's what Natural Selection is for. If someone noticed, "Whenever we drink from that pig, someone dies. That can't be good."

Hey, pigs are filthy creatures. They play and eat in mud and their own filth. At least cows are cleaner. [Wow, I know I'm tired. I somehow converted cows are cleaner into clowns. Good thing I noticed that.] People should know that if you eat something from a creature that dirty, yer gonna die from it.

Cows, on the other hand, are cleaner. Personally, I'd like to think people would rather drink fluids from their own bodies [especially if they keep themselves clean], or even a cow, over that of a pig.

And Natural Selection doesn't seem powerful. After all, there are still morons in the world, some of which probably do what we are speaking of.
