D&D (2024) Missing background ability score combination speculation

I think this would be more interesting if stats were more interesting. However dex > everything. Its such a horribly made stat that is just to OP. A str based character is strictly bad vs dex.
Same with Wis vs int. If wizards didnt exist, int probably wouldnt be a stat anymore, there are like 3 saves in the entire game based on that stat.

I'd like it if stats were evenly important, then who gets what stat would matter much more.

So two I am sure are missing are the total trap options:

Dex-Con-Wis
Int-Str-Cha

Those combos pull the neat trick of not hitting the two big Ability scores for any of the 12 Classes, of which there are 7 (multiple duplicates):

Int-Wis
Str-Con
Dex-Cha
Wis-Cha
Str-Dex
Dex-Int
Con-Cha

This combo would only work for one Class, the Sorcerer, so would be pretty lame near-trap:

Int-Cha-Con

I may be missing another option thwt works for no or only one Claaa. I am certain WotC wants each Background to work for multiple Classes, and each Class to have multiple idea Backgrounds.

Oops. Yeah makes sense.
With Int-Wis-Cha, plus Magic Adept, the Acolyte works ideally for the Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Warlock, and Wizard.

I am sure when we know all the Backgroudns we will see thst each fits multiple Classes mechanically and narraticely, and making sure that each is clearly fit for multiple Classes and why explains why WotC is even going with this half-floating ASI approach.

Which has been wrong in 2014 and with the new unarmed/grapple rules in 2024 is even less true.

I tend to agree. But maybe something was added to balance it out.

Equal importance is not so nice if you are expected to put an 8 in one stat.

But a bit better balance between str, int and cha would be appreciated.

That said, in our games int checks are quite common.

Wrong? Ac, initiative, hit, damage, and one of the 3 main saves are all dex.
Simply that there is a use case for str doesn't make dex not the most powerful stat.
