Technically the monk does have one weapon that has reach and can be used with the monk's flurry ability. That would be the always awesome shuriken.

Technically, that would be a Range Increment, not Reach.

technically, shuriken have range, not reach. that aside, I'd allow a feat to treat a single weapon as a monk weapon (you may also need to spend a feat to gain proficiency).

The Feats that expand the Monk lists require Weapon Focus as a prereq, which already has Proficiency as a prereq.
