Monk With Touch Attack Spells

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a repeat rules question. A friend of mine is playing an evil Cleric/Monk and wants to use Inflict X Wounds spells with his hand to hand attacks. Can you do both (i.e. store the Inflict and then hit the guy for hand damage)? If so, could you please give me a page reference. Thanks.

I don't see why not.

But the catch would be that the strike would have to actually hit the target's AC to hit, rather than just be a touch attack.

I don't have a page reference but I think this is discussed somewhere (maybe Tome and Blood- my copy's with a friend).

It's eratta, though I don't think it's accualy in the eratta for the PHB yet (could be wrong). There's a clairfication in Sword and Fist, and also I'm sure it's covered in the FAQ. Basicly you have 2 options:

a) Make a touch attack: deal spell damage only if you hit the touch AC
b) Make an unarmed attack: if you hit their full AC you deal spell damage + undarmed damage.

In either case if you miss you are still holding the charge.
