Monk's in a Anti-magic field?

Yes Taloras everything you said is 100% correct.

It states damage reduction is supernatural in DMG and MM2.
Only thing I seen different with damage reduction is in PHB with Barbarian at I think 11th level? It seem there DR is a Extraordinary ability.
But any other DR would be gone.

In addition, the monk's extra speed goes away as well. It's supernatural as well. What a way to slow down the speed demons.

Since preternatural has a similar definition to supernatural, the Monk's ac bonus might go away in an anti-magic field. I guess you'd have to search and see if they ever explicitly say whether it is extraordinary or supernatural.

If not, its up to the GM.

Hey Endur,

I guess you'd have to search and see if they ever explicitly say whether it is extraordinary or supernatural.

That is the point.. we have looked it does not say if it is Ki or if it is Supernatural or Extraordinary. It says it is preternatural or (sixth sense). That is why we are trying to figure it out.

I have a DM that willing to talk about the rules instead of pulling a power trip and just saying that is the way it is because i said so. The group i play with all DM and all play. So we all try to have the same views on Rules.

So far we are leaning to the monks don't lose there AC in a anti-magic field. At least until someone comes up with some good evidence not too.

I thought I read that any ability without a specified type was assumed to be Extraordinary. I may have imagined that, though, since I can't find anyplace that says it.
