In one on one combat a monk only need a ring of spell storing greater with an antimagic field into, any wizard lose any spell, item and the monk can kill he in a round of grapple

Yeah, if you read my first post, it says something like that. ;)

Without going to silly proportions with items of antimagic (not to mention, that the monk cannot do that on his own - a cleric can).

I have to agree it's quite daffy to pit a non-spellcaster vs. a full spellcaster at levels above, say 14 or 15. When it's level 20 or epic, forget it.

Monks can handle wizards great at levels 1-10 or so; after that it gets progressively more tricky. At high levels, because magic ramps up so much faster than other class abilities, it takes magic to beat magic. It's really that simple.

It would take an incredibly ill-prepared wizard without contigencies losing initiative and failing any number of consequative saves to lose to a Mink... what, in fact, would have to happen for a Monk20 to beat a Wizard20? The probabilities involved are nearly mind-bogglingly unlikely.

Is it something like this?

1)Wizard has no contingencies.
2)Monk wins initiative, is close enough for a dire charge or something.
3)Wizard is beaten up in one round (140 or so hitpoints gone) or immobilized somehow via a failed save.
4)Next round, Monk kills wizard if still alive.

Obviously, as soon as the wizard gets one stardard action, he can flee if in trouble or etc.

The percentages here are mighty low.

The monk, if not an Ascetic, simply needs to have USe Magic Device, and a scroll of Antimagic Field handy. At epic levels, a scroll of Quickened antimagic field, tucked into his belt, and the quickdraw feat works.

free action, get scroll
free action, UMD ... read scroll
full-round action: charge and use Dire Charge feat to grapple and pin the mage

... inside a nice, convenient Antimagic Field.

The level 10 is not the problem, rather the standard action to activate the scroll.

Heh. You should activate the AMF while NEXT to the wizard. ;)
