Monster Builder Statblock Formatting for Mac

First Post
I made an AppleScript for Microsoft Word for Mac which helps format the statblocks from Monster Builder into something that looks a lot nicer.

Monster Statblock Formatter v2.0

It's good for doing these things:
  • Change the font
  • Change the size of header text
  • Change the size of body text
  • Change full justify cells to left justify
  • Change the width of the statblocks
  • Change the background colors of the statblocks

Enjoy.

Since Pages is a far superior product and since I have vowed never to install anything from Microsoft onto my Mac OS partition, I have no use for this script.

I have to ask, why MS Word? Pages as a part of iWork is very cheap and is way, way, way better.

Anyway, not to be judgemental or anything, this is a good tool and I thank you for offering it.

Despite the fact that you have to install a Microsoft OS in order to run Monster Builder. ;)

I will look at making a Pages version.

I made a Word version because I am more familiar with Word. I have to use Excel for all the interchanging of files with Windows users at work. I've tried using spreadsheet alternatives and they just don't work right in translations. I have templates and styles created in Word for my adventures to make it quick to make nice-looking stuff. This was the last step in the process. The statblocks were slow.

Do it for OpenOffice (or NeoOffice), too!

That's what I use because I can use it easily both on Windows and Mac. (And if it ever came to that, Linux, too.)

The Pages output is UGLY. It really doesn't deal with the RTF tables well.

OpenOffice uses something similar to Visual Basic for its macros.

I'll see what I can do in these two areas. It won't be very soon. I'm a noodler more than a programmer.
