Monster Manual 2 hits Los Angeles area

It shouldn't have. Jeff Grubb himself told me that wasn't one of the CC monsters (though I sure THOUGHT it was a Fatling! :) ) [/B]
That was what I was referring to.
And it certainly seemed obvious. :)
Just as obvious that the Bone Ooze is the Undead Ooze, but I guess you can't have everything.

I can say authoritatively that the Bone Ooze is not the Undead Ooze. In fact, the Bone Ooze is not even undead. I designed it for the MM2 from scratch never knowing that an undead ooze even existed until I read your post. :)

I don't have the book with me, but IIRC, the Undead Ooze is an ooze, too.
I must admit that I am a bit surprised that you weren't told "Read the CC and avoid creating monsters that might be too similar.". This might have reduced the possible confusion. :)

Point taken but I would have been surprised if Wizards had made such a request. I was (happily) under contract to create monsters and (thankfully) not to review dozens of d20 products just in case any of my dozens o'monsters had been duplicated somewhere else. ;)

BTW, is the undead ooze an undead creature? I am unable to find it in the online Creature Catalog.

Uhm wrong CC. The Creature COLLECTION and the Creature CATALOG are two different things. The undead ooze, however, is still an ooze, even if it has undead qualities.

Hence the reason the upcoming book I did for Necromancer Games is called the Tome of Horrors. Too many damn CC's in this place. :D

Even so, Tome of Horrors IS a great and catchy title.

Heh..yeppers. One of the board members on the Necromancer boards came up with it (Kvantum actually). For his troubles we are giving him an autographed copy of the Tome.

(Hell, we werent even having a name-the-book contest or anything...someone started a thread about the title, he threw that one out there and Clark and I kinda went "Uh....now that works!" and so there ya go.)
