Uh... doesn't that break compatibility with any adventure that calls for an Orc?

It was said there is a conversion guide.

Still I enjoyed the Orc and Drow monster sections, I hope it's replaced with something like a Gruumshian and Lolthite section.

That Aboleth art is wicked, they are some of the only aberrations that I really like to use (so much so that I have created Celestial and Elemental variants of them for my campaign world) so I'm happy to see that the art for them is still so good. I would like to see more art for them later on as well.

What I'm saying is, if you have an adventure that gives an encounter as "5 Orcs, 2 Ogres" but the new Monster Manual has no Orc statblock then it's going to be confusing to newer DMs.

They're going to be reissuing or replacing all existing adventures, no matter what they're saying right now.

The updated printings will call for "5 orc warriors and 2 ogres," in your example.

I bet Strahd and Storm Kings are first -- Strahd because it is the most highly rated of all, and Storm king's because it is most in need of a refurbishing.

Don't worry, I got you covered Here's a WIP (normally I don't like to release art until it's finished, but the topic warrants it) of a project I'm currently working on to cover that shortfall New species of orcs and goblins, new subclasses, poisons & disease inducing toxins, magic items, spells, feats, and new monsters. All centered around evil orc and goblin clans.

I am curious what the new lore for the slaads will be in light of the Aberration category being explicitly tied to the Far Realm. There's a chance that they could just treat them the same as always, but it would be more interesting to see a new twist on them (afterall, slaads were already elementals for a short time during the 4E days).

I mean, tying the Far Realm to Limbo would not be absurd...

Ugh, I don’t like that. Guess it explains the Kuo-Toas’s strange spear and sticky shield.

They had a unique spear and sticky shield before. I guess we’ll just be seeing more of that sort of thing in the new MM.
