D&D 5E Monster Manual Disclaimer

Just noticed the disclaimer in the Monster Manual.
Disclaimer: Any similarities between monsters depicted in this book and monsters that actually exist are purely coincidental. That goes double for mind flayers, which absolutely, utterly, and completely do not exist, nor do they secretly run the D&D team. Do we really need a disclaimer to tell you that? You shouldn't use your brain to consider such irrational thoughts. They only make the mind cluttered, confused, and unpleasantly chewy. A good brain is nice, tender, and rarely used. Go ahead, put down this book and watch some reality TV or internet cat videos. They're really funny these days. You won't regret it. We say this only because we love you and your juicy, succulent gamer brain.

So a gamer brain is juicy and succulent and only brains that don't get used are tender like that so, in other words, they're saying that gamers aren't very bright.

How rude.

Maybe the tastiest brains are the ones with capacity for intelligence, yet atrophy from years of neglect. Like delicious mental veal. Mmmmmmm... I mean, it's just a theory. Brain-eating illithids don't really exist, so don't worry about it. Have you seen http://www.cuteoverload.com today? It's quite good, a nice break from all that mentally-taxing house-ruling and character-optimizing.

I'm loving the little easter eggs that they've put in the books. The PHB disclaimer was just as funny. I've also seen that THACO is listed in the PHB index (without a page reference number).

Any others people know of?

In case this isn't sarcasm: No, just the opposite in fact. They're saying that brains that don't get used are soft and succulent and therefore advocated to STOP being a gamer and go watch cat videos and reality television as that would make the brain softer.

[sarcasm] You'd have known that if you'd not watched as many cat videos.[/sarcasm]

Which is why this doesn't make any sense. Why would the illithid invest in WotC or D&D in the first place if by their own admission roleplaying makes us less tasty?

I smell a classic beholder misdirection.
