D&D (2024) Monster manual Fey video up

People need to watch what Jeremy said rather than relying on interpretation.

They said PC goblins come from a type of goblin that lost its fey connection over time. It's a type of goblin that is different from the monster manual goblin the same way psi-goblins from Phandelver are different. The MM goblin no longer represents the One True Goblin, only a specific type of them.

Your PC goblin is humanoid. Its parents were humanoids. Its community has humanoid goblins. Those are represented by NPC stat blocks, not MM goblins.
Ok, that makes sense.

Well, we have only gotten reviews of 6 Creature Types (I count 30 in your post?), and they have specifically said there a bunch of new NPC stat blocks...so 55 new system blocks between 8 Creature Types seems very easy.

I count 7 creature types (NPC=Humanoids now).

Giants, Celestials, Fiends, Plants, Beasts, Elementals, Humaniods

If we're done arguing about whether having humanoid and non-humanoid creatures of the same species can we talk about the other parts of the video?

Like how cool the Arch-Hag sounds based on this?
I really loved this video. They were happy presenting those creatures.
And what they actually said makes sense.

I also liked them explaining that bugbear and boogeyman are etymolically related. And why they are so scary. Big creatures that can hide well and abduct you.

The also said they are working on a book with non-humanoid player options too.
Me right now:

For Arch Hags, I guess just cats would be too common of a thing for an anathema. So I'm thinking something more specific, like a black cat who was the pet of princess who went to a specific academy and studied to become a witch.

I meant as a whole among players. if it is a feat, then everyone knows what that means, mechanical weight wise.
Ok, I get what you are saying but I would prefer not to force a choice between the mechanical advantages feats provide and something that is more character flavour or ribbon. I would prefer feats to lean into the class identity or provide breath or utility to the class choices and something else to give campaign or world specific flavour to the character.
