Still sounds like a blessing. Not like a change from a feat.Half-whatever feats could be origin feats, but I'm thinking of feats that give things like Spell resistance or Fly Speed in addition to a possible change in type.

The arch-hag sounds pretty awesome. I was mildly interested before, but now I am pretty excited to see it!Like how cool the Arch-Hag sounds based on this?
Just want to stop you there.I like most of the changes they’ve talked about and previewed, but I admit that I’m confused about the “monster version is fey/aberration/other creature type, playable option is humanoid” change.
There's a middle ground. I dont want to build an NPC mage using the character sheet and rules either. So sure, stat as a monster, trim the fat, good to go.Ok
Problem is that NPCs and PCs don't work on the same rule set except since 2008. And I am torn. One one hand I did like the 3e way of having NPCs follow the exact rules as the players, but on the other hand, it was way too much work and the results not always good.
Yep, this very much alleviates the frustration I was feeling with previous videos stating over and over that gnolls are fiends now. They also said PCs are designed differently and that just because something has a monster entry as a Fey doesn't men the PC version can't be Humanoid.
So it seems even fiendish gnolls could have Humanoid cousins.
Fantasy is supposed to be fantastical. Would you be mad if your GM homebrewed every monster?Agreed. Can't respect it at all. This is in line with the npc spellcasters that have damaging abilities that are not spells for NPCs only. It always detracts from the fantasy when the source material doesn't follow its own rules
I didn't realize feats were so uniform.Still sounds like a blessing. Not like a change from a feat.

But if that NPC mage is casting fireball then its casting fireball.
/sorry, just realized I fell into a tangent...my bad.
Glad that I could enlighten you.I didn't realize feats were so uniform.
