D&D 5E Monster Manual soon to be in the wild!

You might have failed a perception (or investigation) check, because Angels are actually in the table of contents.

The Angels entry isn't long enough to include them. There are 7 traditional species of each, for a total of 21. That's probably going to be over 20 pages looking at how things are statted out so far. The angels covers pages 15-19, and includes devas (p. 16), planetar (p.17), and solar (p. 18). Unfortunately, it looks like deva isn't big enough to include astral, movanic, monadic, and the other one whose name I don't remember.

There are no guardinals, eladrin, or archons anywhere.

James Wyatt talked about a lot more outsiders and exemplars in his articles (as well as other miscellaneous creatures, such as various fey) than we are seeing. Hopefully this means that they will be "coming soon to a supplement near you", rather than meaning that they are going to trickle out piecemeal over the course of the next 8 years like they did in 3e.

I just noticed there is no Nymph. She's the only omission I've seen.

You're right. Given that it was one of the more PG art pieces from 3.0 / 3.5, I guess this is how they solved that issue. Although the succubus is in there, so we'll see how that's handled. Although again the "is it a demon or a devil" question - which is just funny to me - got solved by splitting the middle, apparently.

Is the ettin in the MM? Also, I read that there are no demon lords/princes in the book. But are they mentioned? Like in the Death Knight's entry or in the fluff about demons?
