Some incredibly optimistic(?) person has one on ebay now for a $500 starting bid. ...Yeah.

Haha, I guess that's one way to pay for Gencon.

The MM's we got there for all-access were also signed by the dev team, a nice bonus.

It is a gorgeous book, with a good array of monsters. Wish it had a listing of monsters by CR though.

There are only two things I care about knowing in advance: What are the dragon age categories, and how does their optional spellcasting work.

A young or older dragon gets a number of spells equal to Chr mod. These are usable once per day. (There are a few sentences spelling out additional bits).

And it's still to be confirmed if they are all in the same section of the book, or spread out like in the downloads. God I hope not.

Dragons are all in their own section with two templates as well.

can someone wit an MM tell me the cr of the 4 types of yugoloths.

  • Arcanaloth (12)
  • Mezzoloth (5)
  • Nycaloth (9)
  • Ultroloth (13)

Thaumaturge.

Thanks. A bit fewer spells than I'd like, but I'm sure it's probably fine for your average dragon. I can always plop on class levels for the true magical masters.

For those of you with the MM, does it offer up level or CR based guidelines for creating monsters on the fly?

For example, does it list HD or HP by level, along with attack bonus by level, suggested AC, etc?

It does some of that, but it also says the rules for making monsters will primarily be in the DMG.

Does it give suggested dimensions for creatures based on creature size? Looking at the real world animals in Basic D&D, it seems they're aiming for something similar to 3e, but there is nothing in Basic actually telling us the meaning of the sizes.
