Uh, so? I think you might be misestimating people's level of objection to such details in a game.

I'm kind of curious who you're arguing with in your rant, because it sure isn't me.

I don't know about people's objections in general - just the ones stated in specific by Derulbaskul. I don't personally care whether any individual person has or wants those sorts of things in their game, or how they handle them: that's personal choice and what's enjoyable for the people playing.

What I do object to is when someone gets on the moral 'high ground' and says that actions A, B, and C are not appropriate for inclusion in a game because they happen to real people in real places and wreck their lives...and then completely ignores the fact that plenty of other things that PCs in just about any game system do are equally horrible, and happen to real people in real places and wreck their lives.

Well, it would be a big stetch to call Mr. Chick good. If you look at his list of 'tracts', there is very little he doesn't hate unfairly.

Recently, I saw catalog copy for a book I'm contributing to. It said "With a special focus on X!". I was slightly confused, as no one had mentioned "X" to me. I contacted my editor. "Hey, I just saw this book was supposed to have lots of X in it, none of my stuff covers X, do you want me to edit it and add some X in?" Editor: "Nah, I have no idea where they got that idea."

Please don't draw too much inspiration for the Arch-Devils, Daemons, & Demon Princes from Planescape. Please stat them, don't give me a paragraph with info and domains like Armies of the Abyss did(great product though), and please include all the princes and devils from the 1e MM1 & MM2. Stats for the following entities are a must.

In fact I think it would be best to just ignore the entire 2e stuff and stick to the classic material. And if you are going to use any Greyhawk organization like the Scarlett Brotherhood please get a more firm grip on it than some of the Greyhawk elements you fudged on in RttTOEE. Also send a signed copy to my house along with a regular copy that I can use for gaming while the other one sits on the mantle. I hope I am not asking for too much.
