Monte's The Book of Iron Might is a surprise

I'm looking forward to the book, too. I was just curious about this statement, though - what's the downside of having a PDF being perpetually on sale?

I assumed he meant "there's a list price but no one pays that" but that might be the publisher side of me. I suppose Joe might have something against it being "always available for purchase". I'm not sure.

I love the fact that it's always available for purchase. That's great service.

It's the fact that it has a price tag of X and is always on sale for Y, sometimes going on sale even more for Z. A sale that's always on is not a sale. Just change the retail price. I suspect that it's originally there to 'scare' people into buying it while it's on sale and then when it goes on sale-sale, they use the original price to note the great mark down, which isn't that much from the 'sale' price.

Things could've changed since it went to DriveThruRPG though. It's just something that I keept seeing and comment on without thinking.
