I have made a shirt from the cloth I've woven from 4e threads. It is comfy and cool, and dare I say, stylish.

There's enough thread to clothe an army - stylishly, I dare say.

I don't understand the problem with 4e threads. It seems to me that "don't read a 4e thread" is the easiest solution for those that find 4e threads offensive.

Some folks feel that alarmist discussion, and the anger it generates towards WotC are counterproductive, and do harm to our community as a whole. For one taking this stance, ignoring the threads is rather like allowing wounds to fester.

To counter your argument - I don't understand the need for new 4e threads. We have so many of them already, why do we need more? Why should 10% or so of the front page be taken up with discusson of a topic that as yet has no factual basis whatsoever, and arguably has deleterious effects on our community?

Because people make it impossble to continue the discussion in the orginally threads so people feel they have to start new ones to have a discussion. Its hard to have a serious thread where 2/3rds of the posts are non productive.

But, but, what would I ever do with myself if I didn't have a new 4e post every week?!??!?!?
Seriously, though, this may work for awhile, but (even as much as I loathe the 4e threads) eventually this thread will be off page 1, people will forget, and 4e threads will again flourish on a weekly (daily?) basis.

Except that most of the 4e threads I have seen go like this: lots of 4e speculation; anyone who doesnt speculate is told not to "shut down the thread"; people from WOTC who comment on the thread are summarily dismissed as being spreaders of disinformation.

For me it isnt the threads themselves, its the general tone of them.

I believe there is enough interest and threads on the topic that a 4E forum should be created. That would solve all of the problems that have come up.

No more difficulty locating the old 4E threads. No more reason for people to be annoyed and post those troublesome, humorous comments that make it impossible for serious 4E discussion to continue. No more problem with too many threads about a product that WotC employees flatly deny is currently in the works, nor need to insinuate they are liars.

"d20 Modern, d20 System & OGL Games" has it's own forum, and 4E needs its own forum, too. It's popularity as a topic of serious discussion is only going to increase as we get closer to next week's release date.
