No more reason for people to be annoyed and post those troublesome, humorous comments that make it impossible for serious 4E discussion to continue.

What makes you think that placing the threads in their own forum would stop people from acting like they are?

I believe there is enough interest and threads on the topic that a 4E forum should be created. That would solve all of the problems that have come up.

No more difficulty locating the old 4E threads. No more reason for people to be annoyed and post those troublesome, humorous comments that make it impossible for serious 4E discussion to continue. No more problem with too many threads about a product that WotC employees flatly deny is currently in the works, nor need to insinuate they are liars.

"d20 Modern, d20 System & OGL Games" has it's own forum, and 4E needs its own forum, too. It's popularity as a topic of serious discussion is only going to increase as we get closer to next week's release date.

This is a logical suggestion, and we can also include a humor tag for that forum. Thus, we can speculate on the impact of adding sniff-and-scratch cards for monsters and spells to the game and running an encounter featuring ghouls, ghasts, oygughs and the effects of fireball, stinking cloud, and repulsion. (Hmm, break out the hazmat suit for that one.) :)

On a more serious note, such a forum might include threads on what to include in a future edition. Although it will not qualify as scientific polling, posters can share their thoughts with the rest of the board -- and possibly developers.

How often do you see complaints about Hivemind threads these days? Or people posting in Hivemind threads mocking the people who are having serious discussions in them? It's the ideal solution that would solve the problems.

Plenty still.

Well, to get a forum it needs like 10 times the discsuion for about 5 more months.

But, why would anyone who doesn't like 4th edition threads actually start one themselves?
I don't really have an opinion on 4e threads - I haven't actually read any of the current ones, including this one.*

I just thought it was funny that there were three threads on the same topic active on the first page, and hoped to bring a bit of tongue-in-cheek attention to the fact (thereby making four - oh, the side-splitting irony). :)

* Well, okay, I read this one. Cut me and rub lemon juice in it already, Mr. or Ms. Smartypants.
