Mordenkainens Weapon Emporium ??

I have heard a little about this, whats the story.

Is it a basic source book like AV but has magic weapons in it ??

And some specific weapon feats.

And when is it out ?

It will be out momentarily, and is basically AVIII.

There are commons, uncommons and rares, plus cursed items and a lot more.

But it is supposedly only available from gaming stores, not big places like Amazon.

Hope you have a good gaming store locally.

Note that actual title of the book is Mordenkainen's Magnificent Emporium.

Also note that it contains reprinted material from the AV I and DDI.

They reprinted Eternal Chalk.

I think a lot of that stuff is in there for the benefit of the post-Essentials crowd. That, and to add some padding, probably.

That said, I really liked it (never bought AVI), and more than its face value as a sourcebook, I found that the ideas within made for fertile soil for further ideas. YMMV, of course.

Its out- I looked at it 2 times and decided it had too much reprinted material for me.

I mean, each time, I chose 3 pages at random and kept hitting items I already knew...and I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of 4Ed items.

That kinda makes sense seeing how AV1 is no longer in print, and most people willing to sell a copy are like '$60 or GTFO.'

It is absolutely AV1 for the Essentials crowd. A very large chunk of it is reprinted material of one kind or another, such as superior weapons and superior implements, or stuff taken directly from DDI.

Hopefully someone is already making a list of the content so people know how much new material they're paying so $30 for. I picked it up, but mostly because I want to support my FLGS. If nobody else is working on it, I may see if I can throw one together.
