This cover is silly, but I'd like to clear something up.
I see the "porn" word used continually for things that aren't pornographic. Erotic, maybe, bad taste maybe (in the case of that botched cover, surely); but not pornographic.
"Porn" comes from the greek word meaning "prostitue". Pornography is describing and illustrating sexuality comparable to prostitution: deshumanizing sexuality, without sentiments or feel for the others. Yep, that cover can be seen as trying to be arousing. But, she's not stuffed with a dildo, she's not engaged in a sexual activity, and she even have some sort of clothing.
It's like these peoples over at the FR deities boards on wizard repeatedly saying Eilistraee is the deity of porn. Sheesh.
Erotism is not porn, bad taste is not necessarily porn (although the reverse is always true), and when you remove your clothings to take a bath, it's not porn neither (unless you are really wicked).

Most Impressive! I've not seen such an excellent rendition of a Dwarf in any Published product in a long time.
Any publisher that is doing a book on dwarves definately should use you! Do you have any other art on the net?

Well, Since my rommie is graduating from College of Creative Studies in 2 weeks, I won't bother to type in her response to this cover here (Besides, I'd have to edit it to high heaven and back to make it readable )...
As for me, I personally don't like it one bit. Doesn't mean that the material is useless, doesn't make it porn, I just see it as unecessary in my opinion. *shrug*
The benefit for Avalanche however, is that they get all this wonderful exposure here because of all the threads about their *cough* women, that they wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

Thanks for 'correcting' us Gez. But i would be so bold as to say that if porn is a form of prostitution, the idea behind this cover equals porn...
I know what erotic is, and this is just not it. This is a cheap shot at getting male gamers to buy a product based on only the image of a half naked woman (and i'm guessing that the original image had a lot less clothing, do boots count?). What's next? Dressing up female teachers in 'erotic' clothes so that more boys go to school???
I don't know about others, but just as females don't like it that males seem to think of them as sex objects, i don't like it when companies seem to think that we can only make decisions with our 'head'.

The pose is horrible on this one, she seems to be doing a sideways dodge and spring and firing on the go. I also can't quite make out whether the bowstring was going over or under her arm. It is also not that norse. This one and the Atlantis one bug me, the triple sword thing she is wielding ruins the cover for me. I did get the Ragnorak one (50% off) and liked its cover (obviously a priestess of Loki gloating over having stolen a priest of Thor's hammer) but this one is just not as good a cover. I am still interested in norse d20 material and might peruse the contents when it comes out. I am looking forward to the Vlad Tepes one as well, and it has a good cover.
