I've never heard Brits having trouble with "lich." There's a town called "Lichfield", and everyone just pronounces it that way. My scenario idea set there will have to wait for the right campaign...

Actually, it's the Middle English for "body" and a correct pronunciation for either of the spellings (lich, lik,). Note that the Scots form is indeed the same sound as in German for the ch diglyph.I have a friend who insists on pronouncing lich as "lick". He just does it to be annoying, though.
