MPEG-2 & Premiere question

First Post
Since I am making a movie for class, and my friend has volunteered his laptop to do editing at home since we can't come to school on weekends and use the equipment, we have run into a snag.

With the help of Adobe Premiere, I exported a captured piece of video, and encoded it with NTSC mpeg-2 codec. However, his laptop (which also has Premiere), can't support the file (we get audio, but no video), because he doesn't have the codec.

Does anyone know how I can get the codec installed in Premiere so that it will read the video?

Odd. I would think that MPEG-2 would be pretty standard for any PC these days, its not till you get into DiVX and things like that that it really becomes an issue. I'd check the Adobe Premiere site and see if you can find any details on their support pages - I'd guess you have a more up-to-date codec on the first PC than on the laptop.

This documenthere might be a good place to start.
