aaaaaahhhhh, makes sense!

I was like: ''if the guy can just sprout a new hand to replace the old one, he should totally start a business of selling ''hands of Vecna'' to unsuspecting travelers''.
I mean, in my head-canon that is what he did. Why else are there so many hands and eyes going about the multiverse? He is a god of secrets, ya know?

Vael

Legend
If you'll notice, his left hand is reattached, and so is his left eye, no doubt from the ritual involving the Book of Vile Darkness floating in view. I dunno how viable a play Vecna is, but A+ for flavor win.

Depends on the format, but for Standard at least, not until Fall and Eldraine finally leaves standard. Brazen Borrower just kills any major token maker, and it's pretty ubiquitous. At least that's what I've heard ... I do not play any 60-card Constructed format.

It is something I'd want to try and pull off in Commander, though.

Speaking of ... yeah, I'm totally into the Esper Dungeons of Death deck. Stealing dudes and saccing them to progress through a dungeon? Sounds like fun. Looking forward to the Friday full reveal.

I mean, we are talking about lore here. Retcons are kind of a thing.

This is a lot like saying Superman isn't from Krypton, because the very first comic strips didn't mention Krypton...

TSR explicitly said that they were different. The 5e retcon is not something I acknowledge. And the very first paragraph of action comics #1 says he was from a distant planet.

I mean, if it's in the DMG, it's the Lore the Magic cards are working off of.
I just hate retcons. So I ignore them. It wasn't a retcon for Superman's planet to be named Krypton later. It was just a clarification. Had he originally been from Kansas, then it would have been a retcon. The Orbs of Dragon Kind and Krynn's Dragon Orbs were not the same artifact until 5e. Well, maybe 4e. No idea of the lore of that edition.

Founds some leaks online, here are the translations.

"Google translate has the following to say about those cards. The Demon and the Gnome are pretty rough ones, not sure what to make out of them.

Send to Hell 2BR

Lokan, Warlock Collector 5BB
Legendary Creature-Devil [R]
Flying
Whenever a creature car is put into an opponent's graveyard from one of them, you "pay life equal to its mana total and put it onto the battlefield under your control. It's the other type of it. In addition to XX (undecipherable), you may select.
If the XX you control (undecipherable) dies, exile it instead.

Whenever an illusion you control dies, you may put a permanent card in your hand with mana less than or equal to that creature's power onto the battlefield.
1/3

"Old man's body" (definitely the real name) 3WW
Enchantment-Aura [R]

Enchantment (creature you control)

So the Companions of the Hall are completed with the Commander Decks. Interesting.
