Murder is the Pits

Vanitri pears over Ironwolf's shoulder as he's glancing at one of the notes. "Wow, is that legal in Earling?"

Michael reflexively glances at the note himself and looks even more grim.
"Probably, Vanitri. But at the risk of sounding like a cleric, not moral. And if they knew compliant ladies, maybe even dangerous. Gets a lot easier to get rid of someone once they take off their armor."

"Well, you'd certaintly have to remove your armor to do that," Vantri says with a grimace.

Vanitri pats Tiny and Mountain on the shoulders "It takes a brave man to take on the women of this city. I admire your courage gentilemen."

"Don't worry, Michael. I don't plan to take them up on the offers. I think activity of that... sort would be something I'd engage in only with someone special. And even so, the suggestions are a bit exotic."

"Petra, I assume you'll want the equipment we borrowed to be returned, yes?"

ooc: KB, does this conclude the adventure?

Riding off into the sunset

OOC(It's a big city and we have potentially a lot of gold.
Some shopping might be nice. I think the only place better for merchants would likely be this famous "Festival of Halina" all the caravaneers have been talking about . If we hurry, we might make the last few days :)
Michael would like to see Click and Clack through to their sentencing: also he needs to write thank you letters for his bug picture and shield.
Michael not being a strong scribe, this may take most of a day.
And, of course, he will also cast detect poison on the wine, anti-toxin, and perfume. If it turns out not to be poisoned, he needs to take the rest of the party out for dinner.
But yes, it could all be blue-booked -- unless Click and Clack escape and come back for revenge.)

Petra accepts a copper from each of you with grave thanks and in short order a official has removed your collars. Petra also hires a coach to take you all back to the red dragon (or anywhere of similar distance you would like to go) after each of you has gently rebuffed her offer to resell yourselves and go into the gladiator business for real. The next morning when all your shopping is done and the wine and perfumes have been determined safe (it seems click and clack went straight from their failed sabatage of the beast match to their final suicidal attack on petra) you head back to seek new adventures.

(for those concerned with the twins' fate, the magistrate approves an extension of their servitude to include the remaining time owed by all those they attacked and double that of those they killed (to the tune of almost 100 years total) and a change in their slave status from "voluntarily indentured" to "criminal (violent)" which effects the work they can be forced to do and their right to buy their freedom. Translated from the specific justice system of Earling, they get life in prison with hard, dangerous labor and little chance of parole.)

Rewards:
XP: the final fight was worth 1800 xp, split 4 ways = 450. plus 100 more for the last month.
gold: everyone who banked their 1000 gp collects it now, vanitri I think already has his.

"Petra, thank you for everything. It was an... interesting experience."

Vanitri does what shopping he can here, though likely ends up waiting to do most of it back in Orussus.

"Ironwolf, I believe this belongs to you," he says, offering him back the studded leather.

OOC: Well done Kahuna, and thanks :)

Guessing we're done, would you like some feedback? (I know I plan on asking for feedback once Festival is finished).

Of Tiny and Mountain, are they open to be used in a different adventure? I might be making a stop in Earling in my next adventure.

It was fun guys :)

I'll take any feedback folks wish to give, though I wasn't planning on soliciting about any specific topics.

Everyone presented here is available for future adventrures - tiny is a 3rd level half orc monk and the mountain is a 3rd level halfling barbarian, petra was never statted but is basicly a medium level expert. Ron, btw, is the same "old ron" who Sara occasionally refers to, he's a very good if gruff guy who partially raised little 'double-trouble'.

Michael shrugs, happy to be wrong, passes out the wines, perfumes, and anti-toxin, and takes everyone out for a nice dinner. Probably at the Easterling equivalent of a BYOB place since, well, they've got plenty of B's.
He takes off Petra's breastplate and thanks her for the loan, then changes back into his old scale mail. Somehow it seems less impressive after the big suit of armor.
He hefts his new steel shield, proudly blazoned with Sela's mark, and quietly leaves his old wood shield with Ron "for some new kid who comes along. It's got some good experience for him."
Everything fits back into its accustomed place in his pack and straps up tightly.
Thank-you letters get written and dispatched to little artists and big givers of shields.
Tiny, Mountain, and Ron get handshakes and told "If you ever get out to Black Rock in the Great Sky country, stop in at the Grannions and tell 'em I sent you. Good food, a place to stay, and if you make fun of Grandma Lindy, you can have gladiatorial practice too."
The bag of gold gets tied tightly and sits in his medical case, on his lap. Periodically Michael wonders what to do with more gold than he's ever seen in his life.
After a moment he looks up across the carriage.
"I'm sorry, Rose. You had a question for me?"

Ironwolf looks over the money he's earned. It's more than he's ever had before, but still not enough to buy the equipment he'd like to have.

"I guess this old suit of studded leather will have to do for a while yet. Petra, if you ever need more work done, let us know. Unless you have anything soon, though, it's back to Orussus for me."

"What say you all? Shall we travel together back to the red dragon inn? Perhaps if fortune favors us, some well equipped bandits will assault us along the way... though I can't recall any bandits going about in the full plate I'd like to aquire."

Ironwolf gives the others what he hopes comes across as a friendly grin, though it doesn't sit welll on his serious face.
