My house just got buzzed by a fighter craft

When I lived in Tucson, I lived close to the Davis-Monthan airforce base. I regularly saw lots of interesting fighter craft flying overhead. In fact on many Saturday mornings I woke to the sound of several of the larger aircraft spinning up.

I see F-22's coming and going from Wright-Patt AFB, on ocassion. I grew up w/ a myriad of jets flying low altitude holding patterns over my house growing up, there were times where I could've done w/out the noise.

Hey, I was gonna say that. Welcome (belatedely) to the boards by the way, there's at least 5 other people I know from the Dayton area here. Where ya' from?

And being next to Wright-Patt seeing a fighter jet, big cargo plane or the occassional stealth fighter isn't unusual.

Sadly, I used Phoenix based on the AIM-54 as a handle/callsign in flight sims long before I knew the Phoenix legend.

I think he meant that, as a missile, jet fighters are among your natural enemies.

I grew up near an Army National Guard base, so airplanes overhead is nothing new. If you think jets are loud, try an A-10 rolling low and slow on target runs (the air-ground targeting field is at LEAST 5 miles away, and I can hear the heavy gun as if they were in my backyard.

God bless the guys that have to be anywhere within a mile of these guys firing off rounds. I sure hope the range master has a good hefty set of plugs and muffs on his ears. then again, every range master I ever knew was deaf as a doorknob anyways. I swear those guys only know two words..."Fire!" and "What?"
