My mother reads ENWorld.

So, my Mom emails me today telling me that she got a big laugh about when I posted a picture of an anteater in the thread in here about someone's ant problem.

I knew that she occasionally read my posts on ENWorld, but apparently she does it quite frequently.

Does anyone else's mother read their posts on ENWorld, or am I alone in this regard?

She's probably reading this post right now. Hi Mom.

What should I make of my Mom reading my posts on ENWorld?

WOW!! that is soooo cool.

Hi M(r)s Der_Kluge!!:D Matron of Curtis.

So, what was Der Kluge like as a kid? Are there any embarrising baby pictures that can be posted? What cute misunderstood stories can you tell us about him??

My mother sometimes lurks on ENWorld, being herself a gamer (albeit more of the electronic variety, these days).

To the best of my knowledge, she doesn't specifically seek out my posts. :uhoh:

I just think it is wonderful that no matter whether it is 'die' or 'der' and no matter how confused you might feel sometimes, your mother loves you unconditionally. ;)

Your mother is electronic!?!?

Gotta get me one of those...

:p

Wow, that's cool! Hi der_kluge's mom!

My mom is not a gamer, though I always tried to get her interested. In fact, the way I first heard of gaming was through her reading an article in the newspaper about dnd to me back in the early 80's.

I would be surprised if my mom knows what that messageboards exist, although I did finally convince my parents to get a computer and helped them set it up a couple years ago. Now if I can just get them to check email regularly.

Der Kluge's Mom: Welcome! You should register and post!

My mom hates nerdy hobbies herself, so she won't be coming here ANY time soon.

Hey, Momma Curtis! Post embarassing pictures of him as a baby! :D

Well, my Grandmother did before she passed away :(

She was a very "Gaming-Friendly" old lady, and was responsible for getting me the copy of 1E Deities and Demigods (the one with Elric and Cthulu in it) when it was first released. One of my fondest memories is of her reading from it to a group of 9-11 year olds and pronouncing Cthulu as "Chill-THOO-thoo"

Anyway, she would read the boards a lot and, though she didn't understand most of the gaming stuff, really enjoyed what she referred to as my "Dogfights" (which were I guess flamewars:))

My mom (and the biggest end of my family) is very much the "smile and nod" crowd whenever gaming is brought up. Needless to say, she's not reading the boards!
