So, do you really believe violence is a possible solution?
No Violence is not a solution. Violence should stay in the game where it belongs:)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

"If it wasn't for the fact that everything government touches turns to crap, I'd insist on a licensing requirement for prospective parents."

License to breed.

Absolutely.

"If it wasn't for the fact that everything government touches turns to crap, I'd insist on a licensing requirement for prospective parents."

I'd rather have the government mucking it up than the way things are now.... and I hate big government.

Dysfunctional families are the number one cause of our social problems.

Smoking is disgusting, smoking while pregnant should be criminal. They are looking to place laws where you can't smoke in a confined car with children, how is it better when the child is in you and the narcotics are being blood transferred to the infant? I hate big government, but some people are just too dumb to realize that what is bad for them is WORSE for their children.

(As an aside... I love when a person says 'hey come get some fresh air with me' when they actually mean 'hey, come stand in a slightly cramped doorway so I can force narcotic smoke into my body and damage yours as well' )

How is it that you could advocate the ass kicking of a pregnant woman smoking or no?

Geeze, TB, I hope you're being sarcastic.

C'mon folks, let's not be literal.

I'm sure TB doesn't go around knocking out pregnant women, and I'll bet that VD didn't have to be physically restrained from attacking smoking mom.

But, as a SO of a VERY pregnant woman, I can understand the rage sometimes. :D

I work in a place where I see the long term effects of stupidity.
You're also seeing the long-term effects of addiction.

Nicotene is astonishing in its power to ensnare. Makes some painkillers look like Pez. My sister smoked for a long, long time. She's intelligent, discerning, capable, independent . . . and addicted. It was stupid for her to start, yes. But long-term, she has a disease involving a physio-chemical compulsion, and she'll always have it, even though she's been without a cigarette in five years (fingers crossed).

Plenty of people quit, and that's awesome, because they're literally preserving their own lives. And they're still addicted, and will be for the rest of their lives, even if they never touch another cigarette, and even if they grow to loathe the smell or thought of a smoke.

So be careful what you start, too. Cigarettes, pregnancy, or anything else.
