===================================
Smite (Su): Three times per day a nalfeshnee can create a nimbus of unholy light. When the demon triggers the ability, rainbow-colored beams play around its body. One round later they burst in a 60-foot radius. Any creature within this area must succeed on a DC 22 Will save or be dazed for 1d10 rounds as visions of its worst fears hound it.

Doze de Nashlefnie neede too konsentrate untill de "round later", ant doze it iz dizrupted if the Nashlefnie iz it bye a melie atach ?

English abbreviated version: I'd go with standard action even if there is a 1 round delay before the effect actually takes place.

Regardless of the ruling, I think it's a pretty stupid power, since it basically gives you a warning that some bad mojo is coming, and thus, you have plenty of time to get the hell out of the way (especially at epic level). I'll assume that simple closing your eyes doesn't protect you from the effect (which is described as visual).

That's a good point. But I feel like disputing that closing your eyes shouldn't help. It's quite clearly implied that you're dazed much like a bright flash might...

Ah well... ANOTHER D&D'ism that is murky just enough to start another geek war about terminology...

Allez-y les gars...

Well, even if you have a round of warning, the nalfeshnee might follow anyone who tries to get out of the way, right?

If it's a "delayed standard action" then, yes, the nasty bébitte will be able to follow people around. Of course, if they disperse, it's going to be harder. If it's a full-round action, then, no, the Nsaflnalhee won't be able to follow.

Anyways, I think that, yeah, it's a standard action with a delay, much like a delayed blast fireball. The difference with the 3.5 version of the Shnee is that, now, the effects are quite nasty. The thing has 10 rounds to bash on you without retribution (if you fail your save).

NOW I feel the Shnee is actually worth it's CR.

Yeah. But his nick on these boards used to be Tabarnak Smokeblower. Read his .sig:

aka Maitre du Donjon, Tabarnak Smokeblower (member #12,345), Magic Slim

You see ? :D

Which is why I addressed him as "my Tabarnak", ya know... ;)
