Names - What are the best you've used or heard?

From my current game...

Dr. Wujuyama [Dr. Wu] --Vanarra Wu-Jen, whose name translates roughly into Magic-Spirit-River-Child.

Ezmeranza De Gallo [aka The Scarlet Harbringer] --reknowned pirate and former 1st place winner of the Miss Gallina beauty pageant City League Year 231.

Bradento of Bradento [aka the Dread Pirate Brad] --husband and nemisis of Ezmeranza. Kidnapper of her only child [by Paolo Pan Pere].

Johannes DuBouef [aka Saucy Jack, Spring-Veal Jack], head chef at the Narayan Arms hotel. Current whereabouts unknown.

The Smouldering Whore of Ur-Imbra --Goddess of Abandonning and the Abandonned.

Mr. Skull Monkey --saint of past sins, Hannikum pantheon.

Like so many others, I love names. For People and gods, I tend to use nouns that sound cool. Most of the really cool names, though, are for places or things.

The Troskflow (river)
Deeping Frith (forest)
Llyn Pysgad, the Lake of the Sly Fish (home to a 1e-style afanc)
Belly of Sekhmet (desert)
Genj'ii (frozen land north of "Japan")
AEGIR'S BOUNTY (ship)
Teeth of Niffel (mountains)
The Serran Blade (artifact)
The Ashen Scepter (artifact)
Diadem of the Aghraraja (artifact)

Here are some of my favorites from 2nd edition
Kitka El'Brotto female elf monk
Parnvarnakin the Mighty male human fighter
Dabbler high level male human wizard
Kynel very powerful elf wizard probably would be an eldritch knight in 3.5
and my most favorite because it was my character and I came up with the name: Talok Silverblade -male elf bladesinger

Names and their meanings is one of my favorite subjects. I've used a couple names over and over again for my own characters:

Andrephan
T'signotcha

I usually get asked from friends and family to create names for pets and stuff animals so somtimes I come up with a good one and sometimes not so good... Anyway... and I'm partial to my daughter's name :D

Um, Mallus? Those rock. Any chance of you running a game in Vancouver someday?

Spring-Veal Jack? I oughta smack you one...
Why thanks... I'm glad that someone who isn't in fact me found Spring-Veal Jack amusing.

How close is Victoria from Vacouver? Its on the same coast right? In Canada? [it would seem my geography is lacking]. There's a slim chance an old friend of mine might be moving there in a few months. So there is a chance, however small, that I might run some kind of game around those parts...

People:

Ingrinn-Dorn (Demonicaly twisted blend of two warriors into one being)

Grettorin Hexx (Wandering cursed Bard)

Partamar Clair (pretty boy Paladin)

Lyle Squat (Master Thief)

Darkover (Elementalist from RM)

And Places:

The Womb (horrible pit-dungeon full of undead, sealed off with walls of force)

Resting (White Dragon Graveyard)

Kaltos (flat-world campaign variant)

I was playing a game where I used the Robin Hood angle and rather than use the names we all know I renamed all the characters. Best name: Dash Crimson instead of Will Scarlet.

Dash Crimson has been used many times now in our group.
