NC Game Day (Dates posted for NCGDVI-VII on top of page 16)

Saw that you posted some info about an Eberron game at the NC game day site. Loved the description. I may have to sign up just to experience Henry the GM. :)

Of course, my wife would probably come along.

More than welcome, once the sign-ups begin! My goal is to showcase the kinds of feel Eberron gave me when talking with Keith about it back in 2003. Whether I succeed, will be up to those who put up with me. :)

I am still about 60/40 deciding to run a second game in the afternoon also, instead of playing. My basic premise at this point is to re-create a rather large walk-in game similar to WotC's Dungeon Delves from GenCon, but minus the Dwarven Forge materiel (too expensive for me). Until I figure out the logistics AND how to make it appealing and fun, I haven't posted anything on it yet. :\ More later.

If Neal reads this thread, does Trinoc*Con have plans for anything of this nature for this Gameday V to your knowledge? I'd hate to sink planning into an event, to have it blown away by someone with actual Dwarven Forge MasterMaze material. :D

So how does one go about getting a game up on the page like yours is? I submitted mine - but I didn't see any place to post it up for *everyones* event list not just mine... Unless that's an automatic thing? The person who runs the page looks at it and goes 'voila' and makes it posted up for everyone?

Yep. First, you have to be registered on the site as a GM to add games; then Neal or Rel look at the events submitted (they are the admins) and then they assign it a table in the time slot you requested. I still don't see my event listed on a table yet, but by your tone I'm guessing you do?

I've just come from approving and assigning tables to events. I took the liberty of changing the "type" of game from Walk In (which assumes that you register the day of the event and allows no pre-registrations) to Reserved (which allows pre-registrations) for both Clueless' and Henry's games. I've placed them both in the Walnut Room along with another game that was put up.

My feeling is that the Walnut Room should be where we put most of the RPG's if possible. The 3118 room had bad acoustics (thanks to all the concrete block) that made it loud in there so I'll save it out for overflow for the time being.

I'll also mention that Neal told me there is a report that I can generate from the site that tells me all the details like what games are assigned where and who is pre-registered for them and so forth. Once he implements that feature I'll cut and paste the output here periodically so that folks can see at a glance where things stand.

Lastly, I'm wrestling with what I should run this time around. Are there any folks out there interested in seeing the 3rd installment of my Sky Galleons of Mars game? Alternately I'm considering Orcz Reducz (sequel to my Orcz adventure) or a 3E conversion of a classic 1E module. Preferences by any of the potential players out there?

Well - I can't really say which I'd prefer... to be honest I'm hoping for a modern day CoC game or... better yet - that modern set in NC game that was kicked around last GD and failed due to GM circumstances!! Unfortunately I lost the thread that that game was announced on so i don't know who i need to harrass to get it going again. ;)

To my knowledge other than vaguely acknowledging that September will happen, noone has raised their head long enough to think about what we will be running or doing. I know that Reaper Miniatures plans on coming out and demoing painting techniques and possibly running some demos. And we'll have someone demoing War Machine again for those of you who missed it last time. But no, no 'Dwarven Forge MasterMaze' event is planned as of yet :) (Although it's happened at Trinoc*coN's past).

Wow, that's the exact opposite of what we had to do last time (that, or my memory is fading fast - don't discount it). I could've sworn that when I registered my Modern Game last time, that we had to change FROM reserved TO walk-in, because they had to be added by admins if it was reserved. As long as it works, I'm not knockin' it.

Agreed. You were commenting on those very acoustics in May, and how you couldn't NOT hear me at my table. ;)

If I play, I'd love to revisit those Wacky Orcz again, but seeing someone DM something like A4 (In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords) would be fun - just because it's the classic "Great Escape" of D&D. :D

Um, actually it isn't YOUR memory that's fading, Henry, it's mine. I misremembered the confusion and changed them FROM what they should have been to what it SEEMED like they should have been. Thankfully Neal has already come behind me and fixed my screw up. :o

Maybe I should run a Star Wars game instead...

*Waves hand* "You'll forget that Rel ever messed up the Walk-In/Reserved thingy."

P.S. If there are enough folks who want to play it, I've still got the A4 (In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords) adaptation that I made and ran at the first NCGD.

What? Rel messed up? Where?

THAT was what you ran? I'll be darned! Great minds and all that. :)
