NC Game Day (Dates posted for NCGDVI-VII on top of page 16)

Hey, Rel, I have a small problem that I think I did to myself; I edited the Eberron Game, to increase the max # of registrants, and I added some info to the "What you will need" blank, and when I did, the game was no longer listed at any tables in the Walnut Room! It's still there in the master list of all games, but it's not at a table any more.

Could you check on my FUBAR for me? :o

Not a FUBAR, just the way the system handles edits. Anytime any change is made to an event by the GM, it is set back to pending status for review of an admin. I've approved both yours and Jeph's games.

It's an attempt to keep control over what people post for our events. Keeps a rogue GM from editing their event and putting questionable content in. Not likely, but it was a safety measure we put in. Since this is our site, if we don't like that 'feature', I can remove it. Up to you guys.

Er, yes, about that: I accidentally submitted it twice. Acccidental activation of hot-keys and all that. Could the first one--the "tournament" one--be removed?

Thanks,

I give up. The only thing I can do is post in the forums and modify my own profile. It will not allow me to sign up for game etc.

I tried to sign up for Henry's game in the morning slot, but it disappeared, so I assume that it is full. Also, I doubt that my wife will sign up on the site, yet she will be gaming with me, can one person act for two on the site?

Dave

Dave,

I think I've resolved your problems with the initial log in. I've de-complicated it, so it should just be a simple form now. Try logging in from one of the front pages. When you go through the profile trick you've been doing all you are signing in to is the message boards. Signing in via the front page (or login.php) actually logs you in to both systems, that's why you're having a problem with registering.

As to the second issue with your wife, currently no, one person can't sign up/act for two (although I'm considering adding that in future releases). For now perhaps you could create an account for her and 'hold' her password for her until she's ready to use it?

Neal,

I went ahead and created a new account for myself under the name Belen. I tried logging in on the main pages, but it just did not recognize me. I also created an account for the wife and we're both set up with Henry's game.

Ok, I was wrong. It still does not let me login even with the new account. I was able to use the link that activated my account to initially log in. However, once I had logged out, it no longer allowed me to login. It says that no such account exists under that name.

Any idea what is happening here?

I used the activation link to login again, but I cannot just go to the site and login. This happens with both IE and Mozilla 1.7.1

Dave

Alrighty then. For some reason, my password was wonky. A change in password seemed to fix the issue.

Neal, if there any way to get of the old BelenUmeria account? Or merge them?

Game Announcement- Chronicles of Carolina II

Ok, this is primarily to avoid harrassment from Clueless. I intend to run a d20 modern Chronicles of Carolina game at this game day. I have not posted it on the NC Game day site as yet, but I am going to run it in the afternoon session, so that Clueless has the option to join up.

Bump and...

The Fall- January 2036 "…and now the top story of the night. Officials at the U.S. Department of Energy have announced that the Sharon-Harris nuclear power facility in Raleigh, NC has been granted permission to begin construction of the first nuclear fusion reactor in history. They have complied with all safety measures, including the construction of a 50 earth and stone wall that completely surrounds the plant. Officials say that this one facility could power the entire southeast for…… oh god….. this just in! A large meteor has impacted the Pacific. Reports indicate a tidal wave approximately one mile high is threatening the entire Pacific Coast…."

From the private journal of Dr. John Packard, Kennedy Space Center- If only it was one. In a few hours, the first impact will hit the Pacific. Projections show that the damage to nations bordering the ocean will be catastrophic, but the world could still recover from that one impact. Soon, they will find that the meteor is only one part of a much larger rock. Who would have thought that the comet would shatter Ceres or that the debris would head towards us….

I guess we’re lucky in that it will not all hit at once. While the debris will play merry hell with our satellites, it will take nearly a year for it all to fall and calculations show that the largest pieces should enter a stable orbit. God, the devastation! Civilization cannot, will not survive, but maybe humanity will. If only Congress has not slashed the last appropriations bill. Those power sats could have turned the rocks away…

After the Pacific strike, pieces of rock, some the size of baseballs others houses, peppered the entire Northern Hemisphere. Much of western society collapsed. Even the US with its mighty ability to deal with natural disaster could not begin to deal with the damage and loss of life. It did not take long for the cities to fall into barbarism as the food and water stopped. The South and Midwest of the United States seceded to avoid having to provide relief to the North and West and civil war erupted soon after.

In the Middle East, a brutal war began, and ended, in a few short hours as Israel, India, and Pakistan proved their nuclear capability. Few survived the nuclear exchange to see another meteor devastated the region.

China, too, suffered an attack as the Russians attempted to move south. The Russo-China conflict lasted for a few short months, until a scattering of small meteors ripped into the region.

The final rock fell in late 2036 impacting the Atlantic Ocean. While not as large as the meteor that fell into the Pacific, it had the same effect. In most areas, the ocean spread two, three hundred miles inland. However, the Outer Banks of North Carolina helped alleviate some of energy of that final strike…for a while, Raleigh, was beach front property.

Even so, the rains were incessant, and little sunlight broke lighted the devastated world. And it grew cool on a world gone dark…

Yet some hope exists. Already a group of heroes has appeared to help the people of this fallen world. Join them as they resume their adventures!

I'm wrestling with what I should run this time around. Are there any folks out there interested in seeing the 3rd installment of my Sky Galleons of Mars game? Alternately I'm considering Orcz Reducz (sequel to my Orcz adventure) or a 3E conversion of a classic 1E module. Preferences by any of the potential players out there?

Sky Galleons or Orcz have got my vote. I'm sorta leaning toward Orcz, actually. Not that I don't like blasting Martians outta the sky with a big ol' cannon, mind you!

But either one would have me signed up in a heartbeat.

I already did sign up for Clueless' ACME, Inc. game. The trollish damage sponge rides... err... soaks up machine gun fire again!

And this time, the thread was only up to three pages long by the time that I found it.
