NC Game Day (Dates posted for NCGDVI-VII on top of page 16)

Congrats opn the house, A.A. but sorry you won't be able to make it to the Gameday. See you next one?

On the other side of the news, this weekend I got to playtest my Eberron game - got some helpful suggestions, had some really fun times, and came up with both two plot holes to fix, and the observation that the climax had to be dramatically altered. Lastly, I discovered that a Warforged Fighter with appropriate feats can do a LOT OF DAMAGE. :)

The excitement is building now; can't wait!

Shiny...oh...and bumper for life!

I playtested Orcz Reducz last night and I've got some tweaks to make, but on the whole we had a lot of fun. I'll give one teaser quote:

"Mugnutz points his Orcish Wand of Wonder at the halfling...*rolls dice*...um, a 30' long geyser of urine blasts into him!"

Looking forward to Game Day! ;)

I can probably safely speak for Kernelpanik, Torm, and Oncarou when I say that none of those three have ever played Stargate RPG before, and haven't the foggiest on the specifics, unless the rulebook is available as a downloadable SRD somewhere. You're probably better off planning for at least those three Pre-gens. :)

I had lunch with Neal earlier today and I wanted to let you know a few minor things that we discussed about the Game Day.

Things will probably be a bit smaller than they have in the past couple game days. I don't know if there will be any computer gaming or not. There will probably be fewer RPGA games. The Board Gaming will still be present.

There will still be snacks for sale and there will also be pizza of various kinds available for purchase by the slice at lunchtime. This should provide a nice alternative to the "candy and a bag of chips" style lunch that is available at the snack bar downstairs in Talley. As always, brown-bagging is welcomed.

I talked with the manager at Rock-Ola a few days ago and we are a definate go for gathering there for the "after-party". I will need to give them an estimate of how many people are coming to that, but I'll make an announcement at Game Day and place a sign up sheet there. The manager said that they can be very accomodating for whatever size group we have and I can revise our estimate as late as 10 minutes before we head over there.

I would still like to encourage folks to let me know if they will be coming to Errico's for the Friday night "pre-party". In particular I wanted to let AdamantineAngel know that he and his fiance are more than welcome to join us even though he can't make it to Game Day itself.

Lastly, some changes are going to be implemented at the Game Day site to improve it and reduce confusion (particularly with the infamous "Walk-In" category), but these will not go into effect until after NCGDV, so that we don't create any problems at a critical time for the site.

Good to hear. Whether I can get my gang to attend the after-game dinner will depend on how late it is, whether they've got the free cash, and how well I roll on my Diplomacy score. :) I'd love to be able to attend again.

Definitely a no-show for me and mine.

Henry is correct that pregens are prolly the way to go, cause none of us have the books, but if you wouldn't mind some input on those:

I'd lean more toward the healer type - either a Teyla-as-holistic-medicine-woman type, or a Dr. Beckett (the Scot from Atlantis) type. Possibly some piloting skill thrown in somewhere.

Oncarou - an older guy whose primary discipline is ancient civilizations, but he's old enough to have decent rank (team commander or second) and to be starting to get a little curmudgeon-ey.

Kernelpanik - think Dr. McKay, then add a little bit of an obsession with heavy weaponry, particularly heavy ALIEN weaponry.

Or.... surprise us. :D

Clueless and Shemm are go.
