NE vs. N (FFA): Very Young Tarterian Dragon vs. Adult Ethereal Dragon

Oomkaan misses badly with poke and bite (best roll 7).

Round 162: J-Boar slams (rolled 24) for 8. Oomkaan is dying. J-Boar is at 15N40E and has 37 HP.

Next in round 162 for Neutral Evil is a splinterwaif (MM III). Do you have that book, Komodo?

Yup. Only my essentials were in my car, fortunately.

A gaunt, long-limbed creature skuttles into the arena and up the southern wall, using long, spindly fingers to cling skillfully to the masonry. The thing's skin is rough and grainy, studded with patches of needlelike protrusions, and its bulbous head is topped by a veritable forest of thorns. A thick, barbed tongue lolls out of its devious looking mouth as its beetle-black eyes dart wildly about the arena.

The splinterwaif enters the arena at 0N0E and attempts to mount the wall and run to 0N30E20Z, where it will launch a splinter at the astral construct. If it fails the climb check (Climb +13), then it makes another attempt to move to the same location.

One cannot run while climbing, but I will send the splinterwaif as far as possible in the direction desired. Hey, it does get to 0N30E20Z (climb check 28). It hits with the splinter (rolled 24) for 2 points of damage. J-Boar has 35 HP remaining.

Round 163: J-Boar moves over to 0N30E and looks up. Time compress?

OOC: You have to be careful about using official D&D vocabulary in its normal usage. :)

Round 163: Hit for one. J-Boar down to 34 HP.
Blah blah blah

Splinterwaif hit in rounds 166 and 168, but then went 5 consecutive rounds without hitting. A draw is declared after round 173.

Round 174: A large tarantula creeps into the arena to 60N40E.

Next in round 174 for Neutral Evil is an amitok (Creature Catalog).

This broad-built humanoid stands about a foot taller than a human. Its flat face is pale blue and hairless, as are its wickedly clawed hands. Its body is covered in light gray, almost white, fur. All in all, it most closely resembles a fuzzy hobgoblin. It lopes into the arena and charges at the tarantula and slashes at it with sharp claws.

The amitok charges to 60N35E and misses. (Rolled 10+2 for charge)

Round 175: The spider delivers a vicious bite! (Rolled 22) 5 points of damage and the amitok succumbs to the poison. (Rolled natural 1 Fort save) The amitok loses a point of strength and has 8 hp and 15 Str left.

Enraged, the amitok connects with both claws. (18 lowest roll) He gives out 7 total damage in his weakened state. The massive spider still has 15 hp left.

Round 176: Surprised by the amitok's attack, the spider misses. (Rolled 8)

The amitok rakes the spider's abdomen with one claw and misses with the other. (Natural 20 and 8) 9 points of damage! The spider has 6 hp left.

Round 177: The beaten-down spider misses again! (Rolled 9)

The amitok goes for the kill, but the spider dodges both claws. (Rolled 12 & 13)

Round 178: With new-found confidence (apparently), the spider bites forcefully. (Rolled 22)
8 points of damage! The amitok is disabled but shrugs off the poison. (Rolled 23 Fort save)

The amitok misses with his dying blow. (Rolled 6)

Round 179: The spider CDG's for a nice meal. 13 points of damage kills the poor amitok.

Next up in round 179 is a flind (gnoll). (MM III) The spider is at 60N40E and has 6 hp left.

Preceded by a loud howl, True Evil's next contender hurries into the arena. The creature is the size of a burly human and is covered in a short coat of dirty brown fur, streaked with patches of black. It has a caninehead, with an elongated snout full of sharp teeth and triangular ears erupting from a mane of thick, black hair, similar to that of a hyena. A set of nunchaku contructed from two thick metal bars is held in one of the gnoll's broad hands, and it begins to twirl one of the bars rapidly through the air as it charges towards the spider.

The flind charges to 60N35E and misses. (Rolled 8+2)

Round 180: The flind parries the spider's bite with his shield! (Rolled 15)

He almost decapitates the spider! (Rolled natural 20, 10 crit roll) Instead he only does 5 points of damage, and the spider survives with 1 hp left.

Round 181: The tarantula adopts a sense of urgency (apparently) and bites the flind. (Rolled 21) The flind resists the poison (rolled 23), but takes 6 points of damage and has 7 hp left.

The flind connects with his flindbar (rolled 15), this time for 10 points of damage. The tarantula is dying.

Round 182: A canine the size of a pony, with shaggy tan fur, charges to 60N40E and meets up with the flind's shield. (Rolled 13+2 for charge)
