NE vs. N (FFA): Very Young Tarterian Dragon vs. Adult Ethereal Dragon

The spell doesn't allow for disbelief saving throws. The only way to make an image disappear is to hit it.

Frosty charges to 55N85E and hits an image! (Rolled 10+2 for charge = 12) It disappears. Seven images left.

Round 28:

The images swing in unison, with their longswords only. Hits! (Rolled 17)

8 points of damage! Frosty drops with -6 hp.

Next up for NE: a tiefling (planetouched). (MM)

A stocky young man in crimson studded leather enters the arena from its eastern edge. He has a mop of oily-looking black hair and a double-pronged goatee on his thick chin. Two small brown horns protrude through the thick hair hanging over his forehead. An aura of menace seems to emanate from his person. "So the bastard wants to fight dirty," he mutters as he strides forwards, having viewed the previous fights from the waiting pit. The tiefling raises his crossbow and aims it at the group of shiny humanoids. He grins and says "Well, that's what he's gonna get." A moment later, a wave of darkness spreads out from his body and envelopes the surrounding portion of the arena.

The tiefling, who shall henceforth be known as Biske, is entering the arena at 55N0E, moving to 55N20E, and using his darkness spell-like ability.

Biske silently steps back towards the wall, crouches down, and squints his eyes. He picks out one of the nerra and fires off a bolt.

Moving silently to 55N5E (+1 bonus), hiding (+5 bonus), firing a bolt from crossbow (+2), and then using the "Sniping" use of the Hide skill (-15 penalty), if necessary.

Remember that darkness is "difficult terrain" and requires double the movement costs. So your half-move was really a full move.

The images don't seem to notice Biske until his crossbow misfires and the bolt flops uselessly on the ground before them! (Rolled natural 1)

Round 30:

The images move cautiously through the darkness to 55N10E.

Oh, how I loathe the critical misses... :(

Biske silently places his crossbow on the arena floor and unsheathes his rapier. He waits for a moment when his opponents are looking away, then jabs his sword at the closest figure. After his strike, the tiefling presses himself against the wall and does his best to look invisible.

Dropping the crossbow, drawing the rapier, and making an attack at +3. Then, taking a 5-foot-step to 55N0E and Hiding (+5), and Moving Silently if applicable (+1).

The west side of the arena doesn't have a wall, just the north and south sides.

Once an opponent spots you, you need to use Bluff (standard action) to distract the opponent enough to get another Hide check. 5 foot steps in "difficult terrain" are considered move actions.

The tiefling drops his crossbow, readies his rapier, and stabs. Missed! (Rolled 9)

Round 31:

The images swing back and miss! (Rolled 8)

Hits! (Rolled 15) Another image disappears! There are six images left.

Round 32:

The images hit Biske! (Rolled 19) 9 points of damage! Biske has -4 hp and drops!

Biske is defeated! His body is teleported away, along with the darkness that was cast on him.

Next up for NE: a human commoner zombie! (MM)

A rotting corpse in dirt-covered rags shambles out from the western edge of the arena. A shaggy patch of slimy brown hair clings feebly to the leathery gray flesh of its dessicated skull, skin drawn taught around sunken eye sockets that house blankly-staring orbs. Suddenly, its neck snaps like a rubber band, bringing its head to bear on the nerra. The zombie's jaw drops loosely and it lets out an unnerving moan. Raising its arms, which causes several chunks of decaying skin to fall to the arena floor, it stumbles after its prey.

Entering the arena at 65N0E, and charging at the nerra (+4 melee for 1d6+2 damage). Take that, mirror image - you can't beat the power of zombies!
