The zombie will continue to attack the varoot in the exact same manner unless the varoot moves away, in which case, being a creature with no Int score, the zombie will follow the nerra to the best of its limited, undead ability.

Zombie misses.

Round 35: Nerra hits for 8, zombie hits for 4. Nerra has 1 hp left, zombie has 8 hp left.

Round 36: Nerra hits for 5, zombie hits for 4. Nerra has -3 hp left, zombie has 3 hp left.

Round 37: The varoot nerra and his images are defeated!

A small air elemental charges to 60N10E and pounds the zombie! (Rolled 11) The zombie is unaffected!

Hey, Gansk, zombies have DR 5/slashing, and a small air elemental can only deal 1d4 points of damage. How did it manage to kill the commoner zombie?

Oops, sorry about that! Good catch!

Continuing on...

The zombie misses! (Rolled 6)

Round 38:

The air elemental withdraws and flies around, taking the draw.

Round 42:

A vaguely humanoid-shaped, winged mound of compost flies to 60N60E, 20 feet high.

Next up for NE: a kobold zombie! (MM)

The kobold zombie stumbles into the arena, spear gripped tightly in its rotting claws, and makes its way toward the flying thing.

Entering at 60N0E and moving to 60N30E.

You mean 60N25E.

Round 43:

The bogun dive attacks and enters the zombie's square. The zombie misses the AoO. (Rolled 2)

The bogun misses! (Rolled 4+3 for higher charge = 7) It hovers in the zombie's square.

The zombie skewers the bogun! (Rolled 18) 1 point of damage! The bogun has 10 hp left.

Round 44: Both miss.

Round 45: The bogun hits with its nettles, but the zombie could care less. The zombie misses.

Round 46: The bogun withdraws by flying straight up 25 feet. The zombie misses the AoO.

The zombie moans and leaps fruitlessly at the bogun

I'd take out the crossbow, but the Zombie Survival Guide says zombies would never fire a gun.
