Ahh yes I know that world well, although have never gamed in it. I just finished his new book a couple weeks ago, actually.

BoVD is also my first suggestion, but I also recommend MC's Complete Book of Eldritch Might. Warriors's Mantle might be the name of this cool super-Mage Armor spell that should make you popular with any party's spellcasters and unarmored combatants who don't already have Bracers especially since it also improves their attacks, and I'm pretty sure that it's 4th level.
Spine Tendril, from the same book, lets you pop your spine out and grapple with it. It's useful and it's just a wicked visual image.
Blood Spikes causes the subject damage when her blood hemorages forth and forms spikes that increse her unarmed and grapple damage. What necromancer wouldn't like to help out the party barbarian who's always teasing him about his ill-health?
Zone of Speed can serve as a Mass Protection from Arrows, Mass Feather Fall, or a substitute for Slow. It's awesome.
These are just the spells that occur to me off the top of my head. You'll have to check out BoEM to find the really cool ones for yourself.

I have BoVD so I have mined it already. BoEM I dont have, so I might have to borrow up a copy from a friend.
I cant grapple with my spine, cool though it sounds, due to being "Nobility" and "Propriety". I cant look like a vile monster from beyond the pit. I can BE one, but I cant SEEM like one.
