they ARE weirdos. Ok now thanks for the example. so the party knows that this arch chansellor is guilty right? we plane shift to mechanus and entreat as many inevitables as we can to go hunt him down for his transgressions.

Ok everyone, thank you for alllllll the advice.
I did find the errata on Wizards web sight. It seems i have an old Players Handbook 3.5.
The errata says he can only change up to your caster level in hit dice up to maximum of 25 hit dice. Biiiiigggggg difference. I am using alot of all your ideas tonight on our game. So again, thank you all for your imput,,, (seems the uber character was cheatin again,, but this time he didn't know he was).

BTW the dm who was asking the question find in the errata that the maximum of HD allowed in shapechanging is much lower that we thought. The druid can't transform into a colossal dragon anymore hehehe

The arch-councillor plane shifts to the Heavens and brings back an army of Celestials to stave off the legions of Mechanus.

That's his point, I think...don't ban the powers, fight fire with fire.

a simple "astral anomaly" could have avoided all the fuss and kept the game on track, whats the prob? as long as the control affects everyone.

I'll run a murder mystery with 20th level characters.

Not really. Your players are probably plane-shifting to Mechanus to talk to modrons (as indicated in the other post). I don't really see where the mystery is in that.

I don't see anyone complaining about the Resist Elements spell. Or dispel magic. It seems reasonable to me that higher level equivalents would exist for these other situations. If I'm a cleric of the God of Deception, you mean I don't have the spell power to block people from communing my actions?

It's not like the DM should take a "nerf" approach to each PC ability, but I think it's weird to think that high level people don't try to protect themselves. That a high level murderer wouldn't think of commune and try to counter it. [/QUOTE]

I'm not worried about it not being challenging. They can teleport, disjunction, and wish to their heart's content. So can the enemy....

Uhuh. So the NPCs teleport behind the PCs and attempt to assassinate them. The next step is that the surviving PCs research and create some anti-teleport stuff so that you don't do that to them on the next adventure.

My point is - a campaign with high level people that's existed for more than 5 minutes would have already gone this route. The NPCs would have thought of this first - and if I were playing I'd think it was weird that my character was the first one to research and use an anti-teleporting device.
