Need formula for XP for cohorts

I need help figuring out an easy formula to use in my Excel sheet to do experience points. I have it so cohorts can recieve any percentage of XP instead of the 50% and I need some easy way of giving PCs the leftover XP from the cohort. Also, it is using FRCS method. Need anything else to help me finish this, I'll post it.

OK, you're using the FRCS method. First, calculate base XP for each character based on his/her level - I think it's 300 XP times the character level, modified by how far the CR is from the character level. Then divide by (a + b/2), where a is the number of PCs and b is the number of cohorts. Thus, a 7th-level cohort in a group with 3 PCs facing a CR 7 monster gets 7*300/3.5, or 600 XP.

This is from memory; can anyone with their books verify this?
