Need Help Making a Pantheon (need input)

I am making a religion for my campaign setting. I originally was going with something typical with polytheism and all. Then I was feeling nolstagic and just happened to see the Dragonlance d20 stuff and said "hmm I like the organization of 7 good, bad and neutral" and went to organizing my deities along those lines. That felt to much like "dragonlance under new management". I want to do something different. So I decided to go with a "church" type of religion, somewhat inspired by Fading Suns, Forgotten Realms and of course Dragonlance.

What I need help with is the "portfolio" and clerical domains for each of the following:

  • Deity of the virtue of Questing
  • Deity of the virtue of Loyalty
  • Deity of the virtue of Compassion
  • Deity of the virtue of Protection
  • Deity of the virtue of Justice
  • Deity of the virtue of Wisdom
  • Deity of the virtue of Humility
  • Deity of the virtue of Discipline

Come up with appropriate portfolio for a deity and clerica domains. Any domain is okay from just about anywhere. Also all deities are going to be good aligned. Heck if you want to then give me an example of published deities that are of that type such as Ilmatar is an example of a deity Humility. Either post on here or email me at ariesomega at gmail dot com.

Thank you all in advance

My one bit of advice:

Most of the people in the world aren't adventurers. There should be at least one choice than the ordinary peasant or cobbler or midwife would want to worship. Kings may worship Zeus and soldiers Athena, but the families pray to Hestia.

Don't forget the Hestias of your world.

There is Hestias of the world. Just with this pantheon it is a bit overbearing and tries to hold people to a high standard. the deity of the virtue of compassion and humility are the two who common people deal with the most.

You might want to look at Green Ronin's "Book of the Righteous". It has an all-encompassing church, but also individualizes the deities. The book even tells you to pick and choose elements you like. Just a thought.

Mediocrities? Call them Gifts (you can try Faculties or Aspects or Signs or Marks)

The Seven Sins
The Seven Virtues
The Seven Gifts (Cunning, Intuition, Knowledge, Might, Perception, Persuasion, and Will)

Interesting. I kinda like that. Seven, seven and seven. I was going for a middle ages quasi-Catholic church kinda feel for the religion. The worship an intangible force and there are for a lack of a better word "saints" that the people speak to for special advice to better focus their prayers. The evil guys would be small, factious cults and the neutral deitites are more in line with traditional AD&D beliefs that like that of FR or GH. I have a few hundred books and belive it or not I have not even opened most of them....such as the book of righteousness. I remember that back in 1E and 2E there was a "Create a deity checklist"...does anyone know if 3.5E has one of those?
